How good a job does Barnard do supporting and preparing its Pre-med students? Is the science curriculum challenging? Thanks!

dude, you posted three times in the same forum.
chill.
also… i’m pretty sure there was a huge thread discussing the pros and cons of pursuing a pre-med track at Barnard vs at Columbia. Look it up. I may be wrong but consensus was, I believe, that different students took the different tracks depending on how it suited them. One argument was that Barnard’s is better because the professors are less focused on “weeding” out students.

But dude, seriously, three times.
Good luck man. And I looked at your stats and think you have a 60/40 chance. A 3.9 GPA with 12 APs is no joke… But the SAT scores you may be able to work on.

Haha, thankkss. Yeah I know. I’m kind of on like a consistent dose of espresso right now with all these applications and still trying to narrow down my list ahh… 16 colleges. I need all the info I can get. :)

The premed curriculum at Barnard is very strong. The students have enough knowledge that they can take the MCAT early if they wish. My daughter took courses there and at a local college here that sends a large number of students to med school, and found that her Barnard preparation was ahead of what they were doing in the local college. There was a time when half of the women physicians in America were Barnard Alums.

OTOH, premed preparation is very good in many colleges and universities. So much so that I would not use it as one of my top five selection criteria. So much of your college experience is made up of non-premed activities. In addition the medical schools look closely at the other activities and experiences. (I sat on the committee at the school where I teach.) Many people decide in college that they want to do something else. Look at the whole college.
