<p>If I assign a person to write an optional recommendation for only one college, that recommendation only goes to the college I assigned the recommender to, right? I have heard that optional recommendations go to all the colleges you are applying to if they are submitted through the common app, but this doesn't make much sense. <p>So long as your school does not use Naviance, you can assign recommenders through your common app accounts on a school by school basis and each submitted rec will be seen only by the particular schools to which you assign them.</p>
