Options as a Chemistry Major

I'm in the 3rd semester of community college and applying for TAG to a UC. Originally, I wanted to major in Biomedical Engineering or Chemical Engineering, but I found out too late that there are 9 required courses for engineering majors trying to TAG. Applying as a chemistry major, by my knowledge, does not require any courses besides the basic TAG requirements, no major related courses.

If I were to go ahead and get my undergrad degree in Chemistry, what are my options applying for grad school? Can I still get my graduate degree in Chem E or BME?

Graduate school admissions tend to be flexible, meaning a chemistry degree plus the right experiences could make you a qualified candidate without an engineering undergraduate degree. (I’m a neuroscience major and considering a PhD in either neuroscience or BME.)
I think your best bet would be to look at what these graduate programs want in terms of courses and plan your electives accordingly. It would also be good to get research in a relevant engineering lab, I think, to show your interest and commitment for the field.
