I was deferred early and I really want to turn this around in RD. I will be in Cambridge for the Harvard Debate Tournament this weekend, so do you guys think there is anything to do there that could increase my chances. I have visited campus before, so besides that. Personally I couldn’t think of anything that wouldn’t annoy admissions, but I know there are some very knowledgeable people here who may know something.
Considering that Harvard was closed for the past 2 days due to a snow storm, and another storm is on track to hit this weekend, I imagine Admissions will not have the time to see you, but you could always stop in to 86 Brattle Street and introduce yourself. Other than that, there is nothing you can do to turn your deferral around. Admissions either wants you or not; you have to accept that you have no control or sway in their decision.
Thanks @gibby That’s what I was expecting. It is just stressful how the whole process lacks transparency. I kind of wish we could have up to date statuses on our application, like what we were rated by our readers and know immediately when we are rejected. This could be easy to implement if you digitized the whole process. Sorry for the mini rant, just a flow of consciousness
