Opus is confusing the heck out of me.

hey,
i recently made an account on opus to check my application status (which i sent on 1/7 and they downloaded it the next day). basically, everything was missing whcih was understandable since it's only been 2 days.

but they say my long essay + short essay are still missing and i'm confused. since those two essays are on the common app does that mean they didn't file it? if they didn't file it how did they know my SSN and let me open and account in the first place..

If I remember correctly, different parts of the application are processed separately. So, while the rest of your application may have been processed and taken off of your to do list, the essays could still be pending -- even if you sent everything in together. I remember something like this happening to me, but then again, I also mailed all of my stuff and did none of it online. I would wait a bit longer but if it is not taken off within the next couple of days, you may want to call the admissions office to verify. Just make sure you do this before the deadline so that you still have time to submit online or mail them incase something went wrong.

i submitted my app too on the deadline and everything is still there including my part 2 app and the signature page, all of which i turned in before/on the deadline....is anyone else experiencing the same thing?

yep, i submitted everything the week of christmas (snail mail and online portion), and im still waiting.

I hate opus..... it takes forever to be updated

dont worry, you have many more years of frustration with opus ahead of you.

OPUS - Evil program Emory pays tons of money to keep it up, used to make payments to Emory (which gets updated as soon as you pay as you may expect), add/drop/swap courses and view grades. It will not tell you whether you got accepted or not, it will not give you any money... I'm sad now.

A safer way to find out if you were accepted is Learnlink

<a href="http://www.learnlink.emory.edu/login/%5B/url%5D">http://www.learnlink.emory.edu/login/</a></p>

Can you log in? You're in
You can't? Don't worry you might not have been "uploaded" yet. But it should be quicker than staring at OPUS to tell you anything ^^

Good luck

what's the website in which applicants can check the status of their apps?
is it OPUS?

Is the login info for learnlink the same as opus?
