this has been discussed before

a lot, in fact

Arjun's posts are a lot funnier if you read them out loud to yourself with an accent like that of Apu from The Simpsons.

hahaha o man you guys are going to make arjun quit cc

it's okay..only the strong survive on cc

I wonder if the other ivies are as nice as we are...

Well I was just asking in a hypothetical kind of way. I didn't expect every self-righteous Cornellian to bash me. Who even said I was even looking to go to a school more prestigious school? I just asked for a simple opinion because I was talking to a friend of my mine who goes to Brown and the question came up. I love Cornell and thats why I'm going. Seriously though, those of you who jumped on the "shake-your-head-in-disgust" band wagon because I asked a simple question need to find something better to do with your time. The bold text was an extra special touch.

the bold text highlights the ultimate point of the post or summarizes the whole post into a sentence or two...the rest of the information is supplemental. Stop whining about people making things clear for you to read. You obviously noticed the bold so it obviously worked. now shh.

2nd, 99% of the time this question arises, it's from some troll trying to urinate people off, or idiot, etc. who is prestige obsessed. This means that people assume that you, too, were asking the question out of legitimate prestige concern.

3rd, for those who came several posts after the "head shaking" started, the topic of conversation had expanded to include "head shaking" so you can't really be mad at them. For example, now the topic of the thread is not prestige or head shaking (or about ASP, who was the next topic), it's about ppl's reactions to the discussion.

bold text, take that: I pretty much disagree with everything you just said, except for that I don't hold the question against you anymore. It's fine if you were asking for those reasons, but perhaps now you understand why people got so upset so quickly.

ya i'd say like 10% of the girls are truly "hot"

lol + characters

omg i love that response......haha, but i'd say more like 10...10 girls, not percents...

i wonder if the percentage of assh0les on this forum are representative of cornell's student body? because that would be awesome.

Harvard
Yale
Princeton
Columbia
UPenn
Brown
Dartmouth
Cornell

How can you rank Penn State above Cornell?!

They have a good football team?

To my high school friends in Canada:

Ivy league = Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford and MIT.
Often, when people talk about the ivy league, they are actually referring to the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
For example, last year my friend said to me:"Did you know that the Ivy League was here this morning for a visit? They gave me a hat!"
Me: "What!?! All of them?? Why didn't I hear about this?"
Looks at friend's new hat realizes shakes head and walks away

Cornell is located in Canada. Maybe Quebec?

There is no difference between Penn State and University of Pennsylvania.
To those who know the difference b/w UPenn and PSU, Penn State is eminently more prestigious.

don't forget duke... my principal tried to tell me that duke was part of the ivy league -_-

these are the people whom you don't want to grow up to be hahaha

Here's an "official list" for those who are still wondering

don't know what the ranking system is base on.

That's not a list of prestige...that's a list of...i dunno, schools.

harvard
