Can sum1 put em in order for me from best to worst thanks

berk
la
sd
irvine/davis
riverside/santa barbara
santa cruz
merced

i'm about 70% sure about this

Err, Riverside with SB above Santa Cruz?

Anyway, here's my order, I go to UCSB so it may be biased.

Berkeley

Los Angeles

San Diego

Santa Barbara

Davis/Irvine

Santa Cruz

Riverside

Merced

sweet i wanna go to UCSB also ...anyone else know 4 sure?

Well, you shouldn't go to UCSB just because of it's position on some subjective ranking. People will always disagree on how to rank the schools, so you should go there because you want to go. If you want to see my opinion on UCSB, see this topic on the UCSB board:

oh lol its not the ranking..i mean if it was then id choose la and berk

i wanna go party thats y! :) my parents tell me how beautiful the campus is also

Alright :) Good luck on getting in where you want to go then :)

SB, Davis and Irvine should be a virtual tie academically. Of course, each has it's own strengths (and weaknesses), and campus climate.

LOL, UCSB over Irvine is a joke.

party school ;)

been livin in irvine for 3 years, i gotta get out of the bubble

Ucb

Ucla

Ucsd

Uci

Ucsb

Ucd

Ucsc

Ucr

Ucm

Agreed^^^^^^^^^^

*LOL, UCSB over Irvine is a joke.

party school *

Read my topic that I linked to in post #5, there's a lot of stereotyping done by non-UCSB students who have zero first hand experience about the school, and I tried to explain what Santa Barbara is actually like.

my friend goes there, i was actually planning to go there cause they have business for undergrads.

UCB and UCLA are practically the same; UCD, UCI, and UCSB are the same, and UCSD is somewhere in between. You should rank them in groups (UCB/UCLA, then UCSD, then UCD/UCSB/UCI); but I'll speak up for NorCal to balance out the comments above me:

UCB

UCLA

UCSD

UCD

UCSB

UCI

UCSC

UCR

UCM

One to watch: UCD, which will be moving up the nat'l rankings shortly (sry not typing why again - find my input in posted thread) The top 5 or 6 UC's are all great schools. Long live the UC dynasty/dominance over the rest of the country!

u guys must be out of california or something, well the real order is as the following:

Berkley
LA
SD
Irvine
Davis
Santa Barbara
Santa Cruz
Riverside
Merced

ive been studying the ucs since freshman here at a school in l.a. , and i know that this is the current order and im so confident that if you doubt me, you can kiss my feet

It's:
1. UCB
2. UCLA
3. UCSD
4. UCI
5. UCD
6. UCSB
7. UCSC
8. UCR
9. UCM

my friend goes there, i was actually planning to go there cause they have business for undergrads.

You should go if the school fits you :) UCSB technically doesn't have just business, but they do have Biz Econ with Accounting which is a very well respected program. In a lot of people's self ratings, UCSB usually gets shafted or stick below the other mid tiers. But I think it's a very strong school. In addition to all the stuff I mentioned in the topic linked to in post #5, there's a lot more to talk about.

Despite the fact that UCSB is one of the smaller UCs, we have more professors as members of the National Academy of Engineering then every single UC except Berkeley (and we're ranked #2 nationally per capita). We're #4 among UCs of professors that are part of the National Academy of Sciences. All this, despite the fact that we have a small graduate population and a graduate program that is still undergoing many changes. We still have lots of room to build on our campus so I wouldn't be surprised if UCSB soon started adding major graduate schools to the school in the future. Plus we have CCS.

The stats of students admitted and enrolled into UCSB has been skyrocketing in recent years to put it in position #4 among UCs. In Fall 2005, UCSB had the highest increase in total applications among the UCs. And this is coming from me, someone who rarely parties and is kind of unhappy with my housing situation of UCSB. There's a lot more to UCSB than the party stereotype.

Yeah, I know I'm biased, but I just think people should give UCSB a chance. Especially if you're a smart student :) So if you haven't submitted your application yet, be sure to check UCSB ;)
