Hi,
So I got waitlisted at my first and second choice schools, and now I’m wondering what to do. I have been accepted to Oregon State University and am considering going there, but I also have the opportunity to attend the honors program at my local community college where I would spend two years and transfer. I am trying to weight the pros and cons of each, if I go to the cc I can tag a school or even get admitted to somewhere like Berkeley, and save money, I also have quite a few friends going to this cc. But I would miss out on the college experience and probably a fine education at Oregon. I’m looking for any opinions or advice, on how I should proceed, and what to consider. Honestly anything at this point is helpful. Thank you!
What is your state of residency and intended major?
I live in Northern California and intend to major in Business with focus in Marketing @ucbalumnus
In that case, starting at a California CC and transferring to a CSU or UC would be a financially attractive choice.
You could save a lot of money and end up at a CSU or maybe UC school. If money is not the driving force in your decision, I would go to Oregon State in the fall. JMHO. Best of luck.
Do you think I would get a better education at Oregon State? Or at My CC honors program then transfer to Berkeley or UCLA? @ucbalumnus @glido
I think the education would be equal, and you would save a lot of $ in CA. Take advantage of what is probably the strongest overall state university program in the country.
You will get a fine education at either one. Once you get dour bachelor
s degree and get a job, you will be judged on your work performance. You will do well with either path. Choose the one you want.
