Thankfully, the rooms smell ok. The hallways are enough to make you sick to your stomach if you are out there too long. Fairly disappointing.
My son will be there Wednesday-Thursday. Is the air-conditioning on?
Not sure. We were only there for 10 minutes and it was cold this morning. His room had a dehumidifier going though.
We will be there tomorrow for orientation. Did you son/daughter enjoy the overnight stay? How did the parent orientation go?
I didn’t stay for the parent orientation. I stayed until the start of the 8:45a welcome session and then I left. I checked in once at dinner time and was told “fine”… lol
I’m assuming it went well because I would have heard the complaints if it didn’t. Maybe your Terp is a little more communicative.
FYI, the smell dissipated by this morning (Day 2).
Note to out of towners - there are a lot of local students attending UMD and these orientations will be filled with students hanging out with classmates they have known since birth. Just keep your head up and try to meet new people as much as you can.
I hope the ‘smell’ is okay by the time I’m there- coming on 19 and 20.
@MelioraScott My son is local, but he does not know of anyone attending today’s orientation, so he is looking forward to meeting some new people.
