When is everyone goin to orientation? I'm going july 5-8th.

same, cya there

will you still get the classes you want even if you go to a later orientation date?

hey, I'm going then too! I'll see you guys there.

It might be a little harder for some classes, we were told at a campus visit. If you join a FIG, they often pull the core classes for you. There are residential and non-res.

Susan (mother of Wes, who will actually attend)

F. I. G. ??

A FIG is a Freshman Interest Group. Puts you in a group of students w/ the same major. Here's info on it:
http://www.utexas.edu/student/vpsa/FIG/faq.htm

There are residential FIGS (you live on the same floor as your group) and non-res FIGS.

Oh, so it's more like an organization or club with a lot of benefits. Interesting, I'll look into it.

On another note, does anyone know any sites that has a listing of all the school clubs, organizations, frats, etc.?

http://www.utexas.edu/student/

anybody who has been through the FIG have any opinions?

looks like a good idea to me

The only thing that could be bad is obligations.

Is anyone doing Preview in the summer?

I'm still wondering how Orientation lasts four days. All the other schools mainly only last one day. Well here in Texas anyways.

you can register for classes without going to orientation right?

yes, it's just harder to get the classes you want if you wait until later.

and boy do you have to wait

Do most people going to UT listen to Country music exclusively?

Uhh, I'm sure there are some, but I wouldn't say "most".

I listen to country; Chesney, Paisley, Skynyrd, Strait, Cross Canadian Ragweed...

Pretty exclusive, but sometimes I'll listen to other stuff...

I guess that rules you out. =P
