FIGs?

Hey all,
I am exploring all the different opportunities at UT and came across First Year Interest Groups. It seems like a good idea, small groups of freshmen taking the same classes and getting to know one another. Can someone who has been in an FIG or knows about them tell more? I want to know more about the engineering FIGs if possible. Thanks!

Bump. 10char.

Im interested in hearing about them too, particularly business ones.

My son was in the BME FIG class last semester. I just asked him, and he said it was good. They did these kinds of things: Get tutoring in EE; order in pizza; get tips for signing up for classes; visit the art museum (he said it was kind of funny to see a bunch of engineering students commenting on paintings!). It also helped him to get to know some of the other BME students.

I also really want to know about them, I know a couple of people that are in them and they like them, but I heard you can meet some pretty *****y people though… I’m going to be in the communication school (PR) next year, and I heard they’re big in that college.
