<p>I'm about to start my first year of med school in July and I think I might be interested in orthopedics. What sort of extracurricular activities should I try pursuing keep this in mind? I would appreciate any feedback</p>

<p>Big one is probably going to be the research at the end of your first year. Your school might have a surgery interest club which will open up shadowing opportunities and the like.</p>
