Osama Bin Laden is dead?

What does age have to do with feeling weird about celebrating someone’s death?

I am not that satisfied with the rhetoric being used.
I don’t want to go in detail as I have much to do, so maybe I ought to have not said anything.

I guess we should not celebrate his death as someone mentioned before, a life is a life, regardless of what has been done.

I love it when people who don’t even vote are now suddenly proud of their country just because Osama Bin Laden is dead.

I love it when someone speaks the truth!!! ^^^^^^

“i never wish death upon anyone but i have read obituaries with great pleasure” -mark twain

I am personally offended by this. I second TCBH, age is not related to someone’s feelings over someone’s death.

I, too, am uncomfortable with all these celebratory emotions caused by Bin Laden’s death. I understand that perhaps the majority of people are not celebrating the death of the man, but what it represents. However, it’s still cruel to laugh and cheer at someone’s death.

Quoting PRiNCESSMAHiNA:

“A life is a life regardless”

On a different note, I don’t think death was a good enough sentence. But it is understandable, with all his power and influence he could have gotten out of many situations…

This incident just demonstrates how gullible ,naive and impressionable americans are.In case you hadn’t noticed, the rest of the world is pretty much LOL’ng at America while herds gather everywhere celebrating this so called “victory”.

How the hell did they know it’s him?Remember this guy has had a string of aliases and lookalikes in the past. For all you know this could be an elaborate hoax on his part to either throw you off his trail or better yet just embarrass the US on the global arena for a laugh. It’s also very suspect that they burned his body and threw it in the sea.Why not show us the footage/photos?Why burn down his house?Surely there would be all the evidence they need there to nab the rest of all the chief Al Quaeda operatives?Something is not adding up.

I can’t for the life of me understand why anyone with a brain would celebrate this. You’ve just killed (and subsequently *ed off) the leader of the world’s most organised and brutal terrorist machination. You’ve subsequently *ed off the entire Arab world which already can’t stand americans.HELLO people terrorists are basically going to be retaliating by incessantly bombing America every other 11th of every month this time around.

Big mistake,America.

Ever notice the similarity between “Osama” and “Obama?” COINCIDENCE?

…what sort of coincidence?

And my reaction? Alright, awesome. But I don’t think this is going to solve any problems. The war is still going on, all the money spent on the war isn’t going to be given back, and the 1 million+ civilians who were killed in Iraq/Afghanistan are still dead.
Allllso…until I see photographic proof or DNA evidence that it was really Bin Laden who was killed and thrown overboard into the ocean, I’m still skeptical if it was him.

During Obama’s statement last night on Usama’s death, he confirmed that they had DNA proof.

This is a great morale booster for the American people being that we have the most influence on the war. Obama initiated the mission gathered from Military Intel and the sole fire team that went in and carried out the mission itself maybe not knowing what or who they were capturing (the military acts in secrecy at times from my experience during my deployment); so if you aren’t feeling so celebratory at least give it up to the soldiers who risked their lives to make this happen.

This still doesn’t mean an end to the war that I keep hearing so frequently. Listen to Obama’s statement if you didn’t hear it last night (since everyone was rioting in the streets) he is right that we can’t just stop our involvement because an iconic figure is no longer the rallying point for Al-Qaeda instead “we must remain vigilant to defeat them.”

“Governments change, the lies stay the same.”

How come there hasn’t been any pictures or video of him, and why was he buried immediately without giving any news agency to go there and cover it. They say they matched DNA, but to who? They have to had a previous sample to match it to, right? Seems full of holes to me.

Whether or not it’s true that Osama is actually dead and was actually killed by the US gov, I don’t think it was a great idea to publicize that we killed him. When is it ever okay to admit to a murder? Tbh, the first thing that popped into my mind when I heard the news was “retaliation”.

This is only one man we’re talking about. There are many others like him in mindset and overall beliefs. I don’t think it’s a cause for celebration, because nothing seems to have been accomplished other than making Americans happy and possibly making other more violent people upset.

Moreover, even if it is true that he is dead, I just can’t bring myself to feel okay celebrating. I know what people say he’s done and if you want to celebrate, go for it. But it just seems wrong to me to be happy someone is dead.

@smq115
they matched his dna to one of his sisters

what I find somewhat strange is that they decided to follow Islamic rituals and give him a burial within 24 hours of his death, and yet they dumped him out in the sea. That’s not a burial!?? I understand that they don’t want people to visit his gravestone, but it sounds a little like they wanted to get rid of his body in a hurry…

and there’s a contradiction in the DNA test confirmation. If they disposed of the body within 24 hours of his death, how did they get the DNA tests? Don’t DNA tests take 5-10 days???

Obviously, not all is revealed to the public.

For people who don’t have the power to move their test to the front of the line. The actual process doesn’t take days.

OBL is dead it seems. Hope the blowback isnt too harsh as many innocents could die. The common Pakistani citizen has no say or role in these spy games the world’s agencies play.

Erm, are they? Everything I’ve seen, other than Hamas and the Taliban, has been nothing but praise.
