OSD Notetaking

2 of my classes on myUCLA says that I can be a notetaker for OSD (Office for Students with Disabilities). I clicked on the little icon, and the following page said, "You will receive a stipend based on $100 per quarter for each lecture you provide notes for." It seems like a great, easy job. Has anyone here ever tried for this position? Is it easy to become a notetaker? If I'm a notetaker, will OSD simply photocopy my class notes?

The only bad thing I see about being a notetaker is that you have to give out contact information to the disabled student, which in turn means that you might end up tutoring the person (which may or may not take up a lot of your time)...

So is there any reason why I shouldn't apply to become an OSD notetaker?

I recieve notes from the OSD and I have ask for the contact info for some of my note takers for the purposes of contacting them for missing notes. I have never asked for tutoring but one of my notetakers was nice enough to introduce me to a few of his friends in the class and we worked together on papers and other things. I'm pretty sure they won't be rude and ask you to tutor them. Just write the notes and photocopy them and put them in their files or you can even email them. The OSD has a really nice staff. Goodluck on getting the position.

who can't take notes?
