Hello everyone! I am Saudi female student, and I have been admitted to the LLM program in both Ohio State University and Penn State University. I did a research on both schools and they have many similarities. Which one will you choose and why? Thank you very much.
@SaudiStudent I would choose Ohio State which is near a nice city, Columbus, instead of Penn State which is in central Pennsylvania. Penn State has a big Greek system (sororities and fraternities) and has a reputation of being a party school. The population at Ohio State is more diverse and I think it is ranked higher academically than Penn State.
They’re peers academically, so what you want to do here is figure out whether you’d rather be in Columbus or Central PA. As Morpheus asked Neo, “Red or blue?”
Both are huge schools with well developed party scenes. Far more kids get drunk outside the Greek system than in it.
A different discussion, but it would be interesting to compare Greek vs. non-Greek drunken crimes/incidents and charity work, per capita.
@SaudiStudent @prezbucky Unless I misunderstood the OP, for Law, Ohio state is 34th and Penn State is 82 by USNWR. I don’t think rankings are always perfect but for that is quite a difference. Just my opinion, Columbus would be a much more interesting location.
Yes. Still, neither is T14, so probably the law schools’ reps will be best closest to home. So in a sense we’re still debating Columbus (or Ohio…) vs. central PA (or just PA).
@SaudiStudent What is your career goal? Would you have transportation or a car?
@prezbucky If she does not have transportation or access to a car, wouldn’t Columbus be a better choice? Access to public transportation, easy to get to the arts district.
