OU HTC Acceptances Class of 2020

Hello! I just heard the PHENOMENAL news that I was accepted into the HTC for a double major in Environmental Studies and English (Creative Writing Focus).

I’m 99% sure I will attend, and I’m hoping to meet some other possible HTC students before next year! Good luck to everyone, I hope you all hear good news!!

I just wanted to add a note in case my post sent anyone into a fit of panic…it is very probable that others have not heard yet about their admissions decision; my parents live in Athens and happened to meet one of my interviewers at a bakery and he told them the good news! Apparently we should be getting letters tomorrow or the next day.

Good luck!

When my son was accepted to HTC, I was absolutely excited about it. He was accepted in both Film and what was then called TCOM (now Media Arts). The best thing about his education in the HTC was being surrounded by people just as dedicated and smart and driven as you can hope for. His whole group of friends went on to successful careers in the film industry. Be sure to take advantage of the HTC’s generosity in supporting your projects.

I’d love to hear about the whole application experience, especially interview day.

Mega-congrats, @thedormouse !!

I was accepted in English and journalism!

@marilyn101 - Congrats as well. Will you go there?

Hello! My son is thrilled to have been selected into the Film program through the HTC for the class of 2020. He’s obviously a good student having made it into the program, but I am concerned with his ever growing desire to room with high school friends in the non-honors dorms. I’m wondering if most HTC students do chose to stay in the honors dorms and what their experiences were either way.

@ohio4film - Congrats to your son being selected into HTC Film. It’s your son’s decision, of course, about the dorm, but Film is going to be intense if he really throws himself into it. So I kind of share your concerns. I recommend him working on as many films as possible and, even as a freshman, working with a group on a Shootout film. The people that he works with will become his contacts and his network (assuming he demonstrates his talent and usefulness to them). My son stayed in Hoover and many of the people in the immediate surrounding rooms became his ‘company’ for making films. They were all talented, very DRIVEN, and are now successfully employed in the industry (Yay).
