Thank you so much for responding to my request to turn off CC so I could finish my overdue project (okay, almost finish it).
Thank you! I was freaking out yesterday
This is posted somewhere else on the forum at the present time.
I see that things are back on line, but am I the only one having trouble getting into the parents forrum? I had this problem with hte UNC forum last wk, but clearing the cache and footprints fixed it. That isnt workign this time. I am getting this:
code dump removed
There is more, but you get the point. How can I fix this?
Updating the snafoo–
I can “backdoor” into the parents forum by going to my own previous posts and getting to a particular thread, but the blue hyperlinks to the parents forum aren’t working for me. No problem getting into the parents cafe through the blue links, but not the parents forum. Also, I tried to post a link to tthe “Urban moundbuilders” classic thread from the archives, but that isn’t working either. Gives an error message and asks if it is to be downloaded and wants some additional windows media program or something. Help!
<strong><em>edit</em></strong> I cleared all cookies, rebooted and did everything I can think of-- still having the same problem. Is this related to the server upgrade??
No, you don’t have a squirrely ISP like AOL, do you? Sometimes an ISP will cache something and resist all attempts to refresh the page.
I was sooo like ■■■…yesterday…good thing it wasn’t just me…
OK, Roger, not to be difficult but…
I’m glad the New Posts and Search links are back but we’re also back to having to wait 30 seconds between searches. I hate that. It feels like 30 minutes to my trigger finger
Is that the way it’s going to stay?
Thank you for all your work on this site.

Ha! Now we found the culprit who was overloading our servers!
It may stay that way until we bring the additional mega-server online… We use to have it set at 60 seconds, but as soon as we feel we’ve got enough excess capacity we’ll drop it back down.
zomg i thought the collegeboard ninjas finally attacked the cc servers
I thought i was banned…
We have our own ninja magic, omgponies…
Feeling guilty about something, anirudhreddy?
Apology not accepted. Jerks.
lol
Roger-
I tried to get on through both AOL and and IE and neither worked. I have cleared and refreshed a bunch of times and now <em>finally</em> got it to work-- BUT I cannot get to the old CC classic forum. That does not work no matter what. Is this just a temporary issue?
Be sure you haven’t disabled javascript in your browser, jym626. Your issues are unique, as far as I can tell.
You might consider buying a new computer, signing up with a new ISP, selling your house, moving out of state… Perhaps there’s an exorcist in your area?
Only other thought is some weird security software settings. If you are running Norton or similar you might check the logs to see if anything on our site is being blocked.
Thanks, Roger. I will check those out (short of moving out of state, as the real estate market is too soft right now). I am limited in my computer technology skills, but am fortunate to have a DH who is in the IT field, and ds’s who are very technologically sophisticated. Thats the good news. The bad news is that they hate to have to mess with my computer and fix my computer problems. I might mention that I did check with some other cc’ers yesterday who were having similar problems with the parents thread, and it was a cc post that alerted me the the fact that the link to the old archives thread wasn’t working. I am able to get into the archives from my office computer (I haven’t checked those particular links yet). Hmmm— there may be other gremlins at work…

This just started for me, at about the time of this post. Cleared the cache and reset my cookies. It may be a short term issue, but felt it was worth calling attention to it. It’s not been consistent as to when it happens, but will occur when I change forum pages.
now I get this
as does another cc’er who uses Internet Explorer. Yet I am now getting through on IE but not AOL. This is so odd…
I am getting the same thing as jym, and how do you clear cookies??
I am getting all the same messages, and I am at the public library. Also, when I click on “Latest Posts” it will say to wait 30 seconds between tries, try again in 3 seconds, then when I try it again, it will say try in 7 seconds, etc., ughhhhh.
