I can’t figure out how to post, can someone tell me please?
@guava123 - Go to the forum that your question “fits” under and then there is a “new discussion” box on the upper right hand corner. (At least that’s how it looks to me from my computer).
Thank you @momofsenior1
First time using this on a laptop, its a little more bearable since the screen is larger than the phone. Still not very good cause I do not use this site on my computer. Its mostly when I am in class or waking up/going to sleep which means its just the phone I use. Still not happy CC tech team.
On my iPhone. How do I see all my Bookmarks? I’m seeing a pop up window, showing maybe 4-5 bookmarks, but I’m not seeing a View All option or some such thing.
@Midwest67 The “all bookmarks” option disappeared on my phone as well.
I still can’t understand why clicking on “Forums” doesn’t take me to the … list of forums. Instead of articles with lots of scrolling, and never getting to the list of forums. ?
Please point me to how to ‘block seeing a user response’.
To block a user on iPhone, click on the user’s name and then on “edit profile” - a button “ignore user” will come up. Click that. Done. You will still see the pest’s activity but not the text of the pest posts.
I wish all the stats by our user names were diminished and the date & time post was much more obvious!
Apologies if I’m the 12,564 person to mention that.
This 12,565th person says a good thing is always worth another mentioning, @Midwest67!
At least I’m not the only one that has a high post count
It looks nice, but I feel kind of lost. It will definitely take some time to find my way through.
I see different lists, depending on where I click within the Forums section. When I first go to the Forums section, I see the “Most Active This Month” list on the left. If I click on Activity on the right side of the Forums section, on the right is the “Most Active This Week” list and under that the “Most Helpful in This Category” list.
Along with the participation badges, all of the above are unnecessary and silly, IMO. I doubt any parents need the participation badges, and, really, do the students? If that’s the reason they are coming to the site, there are better places to rack up points! And keeping track of who is posting the most for a week and month is a little bit creepy.
I wonder just who decided on this nonsense. 20-somethings who thought the participation trophies of their younger days were so great??
My son at one point used to give the participation medals back or just not take them. He played chess and at some point realized they were meaningless. He was going to participate anyway since he enjoyed the activity. This was like at age 8. But I have been on other forums that have this but if you get to a certain level you would get a discount on something
The thing that’s strange is that on my phone, after I just posted there are two “featured” threads from 2015 and one has just 3 responses in it and the other one 31. What makes it a featured thread?
MODERATOR’S NOTE:
Yes. But there is no evidence of account sharing. As to the discussion that the user is a plant - to quote SNL’s Seth & Amy: “Really?!?” I think we have better things to do. And discussing the user here also violates ToS, and is just in bad form. You can always add the user to your ignore list, or simply not engage the user. Several posts deleted.
Why haven’t they added options for bold or italics without having to write annoying code to make it that way? That would’ve been a better use of their dev resources.
@privatebanker I’ve been mostly using the latest posts tab for a while. I go to the athletic forum because I actually have recent experience and can help there, otherwise I rarely go anywhere specific. Of course that tab used to be right at the top, now I have to scroll down for it.
I still think this isn’t user friendly, but I have figured out my workarounds for the most part. I still think new users are less likely to give it a try, and I think we will lose some of our collective wisdom from experienced posters who just don’t want to deal with this anymore. I’m kind of stuck in the middle. I have two gone and two more coming up. 90% of what I need to vlearn I probably already have, but I still have many questions coming up I’m sure and this is to valuable of a resource for me to walk away from it.
Not sure how to send a screen shot? Now I’ve noticed that the “last page” does not necessarily show posts in backward order. It jumps all over the time line. Very very difficult to scroll through posts, to find what I missed after a few days. Some are even ancient. First post on the list shows a “most recent” time of 7:57 (it is currently 10am, and I know there have been posts in the last 2 hours ) Next is 6:44 am; the next (3) are June 27! Then Jan. 15 (the most recent post), Then Sept. '14. Then 9:49 am today. HUH? I really really dislike this new format. Seems to be a common theme. Moderators: Are we simply to adjust, or any consideration to revert to tried and true. Do I have an incorrect setting?
