Our Fresh New Look Is Here

So far as I can tell, the only search function that works is the advanced search. That being the case, can the other options just be removed?

Yes, when I do a search on my laptop I also get that “former look” - but also I note that when the search comes up, it shows me as not logged in. That’s odd.

If the font is easier to read and darker there on the search function. It’s obviously doable here as well. Unless someone is saying “that’s not what our research is telling us .” lol. How about research this…

Ok ok. I know that’s not very nice.

This is the only thread i’ve opened since the change, and am pretty sure the moment this is closed/unpinned from the home page…I’ll be gone.

how do I delete a message that was auto-saved but not posted? I knew how before but can’t find it now.

@oldmom4896

Go to your saved drafts…you have to be logged in to do this. I deleted mine the same as in the past…clicked on the little X.

Thanks, @thumper1

I was wondering if anyone could help. The white background is blinding to me. It really hurts my eyes. Is there a way to change the background color? Like with the settings. I looked and didn’t anything. Thanks.

Also is there a way to remove the side panal “most active this month?” That’s information I don’t really need and it’s so large. Thanks.

I find the idea that the site operators seem to telling the members to get back to work providing advice and stop complaining pretty offensive. I would guess they don’t like the fact that this thread has consistently been at the top of the Latest Post lists since they launched the “fresh new look.” It is, in any event, good to know that someone has been paying attention, and hopefully improvements will be made over time.

Can anyone confirm that we cannot search a subform within the subforum? I’ve asked multiple times and don’t know if I’m doing it wrong or the feature is gone. To repeat, how do I search (on mobile) for a word within a college forum without using the top search button and scrolling to the sub forum name, and selecting it? How could I search for a specific word in THIS THREAD, for example? Before, the search this thread was right there at the end of the thread.

" How could I search for a specific word in THIS THREAD, for example? Before, the search this thread was right there at the end of the thread."

For me, at the very bottom of this thread - before the reply box and to the right of the page numbers, is the magnifying glass symbol to do a search.

Ditto for a sub-forum. In the sub-form of the Parent Cafe, for example, there is a magnifying glass icon at the bottom of the main page with most recent posts.

@CCadmin_Sorin Thank you for the update. As I understand it, you’ve outsourced all theme design and development to Vanilla team. (I’m making a mental note to never to this in the future.) It’s unfortunate if you can’t even make small changes like font color. It does look like the theme files are on your servers, so your internal developers should be able to do some tinkering in principle, but I understand it might not be easy. Also I wonder what happened with the previous theme, did you have any backup at all?

" so your internal developers should be able to do some tinkering in principle"

That’s assuming CC has internal developers. I get the sense everything might have been outsourced.

I’m using an Android / Chrome browser and all I see (currently) in portrait mode is 99 >>

Nothing else. When I rotate to landscape, same thing!

Will try another browser and report back.
Edit - still not there in Samsung browser. This must be an Android issue .

One very good reason not to close this thread besides corralling all the complaints to one area is allowing for posters to ask questions and get answers on usability/where to find stuff.

@CCadmin_Sorin Thanks for the update. Please keep this thread open. It’s become a central hub for users to see the latest and in a way has brought together mods, forum champions, and long time/new members alike.

@suzyQ7 it’s not an android issue since I have android and get the expected results. Unless certain versions of Android have issues with it. I have the latest update with Android P version. Restart your phone and if needed update.
I was getting strange behavior on this site but then restarted my phone and then everything worked.

@doschicos Sorin did mention internal developers.

Well, they obviously must not be very busy because they aren’t doing much!
