Hate it!
There seem to be a lot of threads with open ended questions lately. For some reason, I’m not really eager to participate in ice breaker/ conversation starters right now.
Especially from “new” posters.
Yes, finding it difficult to navigate. Not a fan of the new format. Wish you could revert to the old version.
I check in to CC once a day now. Each drive-by is shorter. Won’t be long before I stop altogether. Sad emoji.
**I’m finding fewer and fewer interesting posts. I don’t delve into the sub-forums anymore because it’s too hard to navigate and there’s too much scrolling. When I do scroll I zip past where I want to be at a 100 mph then have to slog my way back to find where I was.
It seems like a lot of the latest posts are duplicates (the original posts plus the one that moved it to the correct sub-forum). So there are a lot fewer choices too.**
For laughs go to the activity page. Amazing how the same person can get multiple year awards on the same day. Congrats on your one year badge! And two year! And 6 year! You got 5 agrees! You are a valued member!!
And if you get some more badges we’ll drag up your posts from 8 years ago and put it under highlights!
yes, there’s that. But, there’s also its exact opposite, the zig-zag poster. We used to have another name for this, but, we’re not allowed to use it. You know. The poster who seems to enjoy goosing the thread along by constantly changing direction. For example: “I’m only interested in colleges in or near cities” suddeny morphs into, “What do you guys think about Grinnell?” Huh, how did you come up with that choice? “Oh, someone told me I should look into it.” I feel like after about 100 posts, if the OP still looks like they are drowning in data points, the thread should be closed until they have time to process the whole thing.
@austinmshauri how did you change that font???
Bolded all the text.
Isn’t everyone’s font the same? ?
Vanilla Forums based forums can be skinned in many ways, including more information-dense ways like the previous version of this site. See the examples at https://vanillaforums.com/en/showcase/ . Also, a third party other than Vanilla Forums could have done the reskin using Vanilla Forums as the base (since it is not mentioned who the outsourcing vendor is).
Of course, any third party vendor who was hired to do the reskin had to have had the reskinned design approved by the internal people.
@thumper1, The light font is giving me a headache. I put it in bold to save somebody else’s eyes.
@austinmshauri , can you give us a quick tutorial on how to bold the text?
[Xb]text[/Xb] but remove the X’s
Hello
Woohoo
Yay! Think we can fix all the other issues too??
Boldface → Boldface
Who exactly is CCEdit_Torrey? Is he/she paid to post articles?
Let’s just not go too crazy!
