Our Fresh New Look Is Here

The funniest thing about the most photogenic badge is…some folks don’t have photo avatars, and some (like me) have a cat. I guess my cat is most photogenic.

I found another glitch. There are some threads I’m reading that are all of these: featured, pinned, in my bookmarks, and on the forum in the regular spot. When I read one of those threads…it only changes to bold face (which indicates read threads) where I have read it…and not in all places where the thread is. So if I read it as a featured thread, the thread title turns bold there…but no where else. That’s silly…I’ve opened a number of threads only to find I’ve already read them. If they had been bold, I wouldn’t have bothered.

Can this be fixed?

My longhorn got a photogenic badge! :slight_smile:

I haven’t been on in weeks. Waiting for bugs to be worked out. Came to check today.

I will never understand the need to surf a forum with a phone.
On a PC or Laptop the font is quite clear, could be Google’s font robotic condensed or so. Don’t know the old version but I dig the new one.

I’m waiting for my Miss Congeniality badge.

I use my iPad. I hate the font. Hate it. It’s just not easy to read.

@PaoloM many folks use a mobile device of some sort these days…be it a phone or tablet. This new format has limitations on both formats, in my opinion, despite the claim that this was to make this a better experience across multiple devices. It isn’t.

OK, since I’m back after several weeks, I’m looking around. I can’t seem to make all my notifications visible. It says I have 25 notifications (of posts on threads that I previously commented on). I click and only three are visible. On the old format I can click again and see all of them. Doesn’t seem to work that way now.

@brantly - I’m not able to have the notifications work properly on my phone either. If I try to scroll down, it closes out that window entirely. It works for me on my computer though.

@momofsenior1 I can’t access the notifications on my laptop. Only the first three.

On my laptop, if I click the “bell” icon I get a list of 5 notifications. At the bottom is a link to “All notifications” and this takes me to a list of all notifications.

It’s close to useless though, because it shows a separate notification for every reply to threads I am interested in. I don’t really want to filter through 200 notifications for this dumb thread to find something interesting.

The notifications should be “There are new responses on thread blah blah blah” and I should not see another notification for that thread until after I’ve visited it. Even better would be “There are 23 new replies to blah blah blah since you last visited that thread”.

And Tufts University STILL is not included in CC Top Universities (non-Ivy). I have messaged the forum Gods at least four times, asking for an explanation. Is there something they know about Tufts that CC readers should know about? What does its omission mean? The CC Top University category includes Tulane (!), WashU, Georgetown, Emory, UNC-Chapel Hill, University of Virginia, University of Michigan, and Notre Dame, among others. Why on earth would Tufts be excluded? Tulane a top university and not Tufts? I would like to know the rationale.

@CCadmin_Sorin

Can the letters be THICKER AND DARKER?

. Figured it out. I had my screen set for a larger font, which obscured the notifications. Taking the font size down a notch fixed it.

@myos1634, I’m experimenting with bold colors. Bold gray is easier on the eyes than black.

Why do some threads have “& quot;” in the title of the replies section?

Thanks… How do you make them appear?

New look is very hard to use. Can’t see much on one screen…hard to see a bunch of replies to scroll thru without constantly going to another page. Arrghhh!
Please go back to the old look.
Also hard to find forums and see the choices of all the different forums.

I’m doing way too much scrolling and clicking on this new format.

@MYOS1634, [ color = gray][ b] Use these symbols without the spaces. [ /b ]

@brantly. Good. We need you in the Michigan thread when it gets going ?
