Does anyone know where a true number is for OOS acceptance for UF? On College Board, it says that 5% of students attending UF are OOS. Does this mean that is the number they accept or just simply the amount attending? I am sure it is similar, however. Just wondering where you can find the best info for different things for colleges. Thank you!
That’s the % of first time freshman that are OOS.
The latest (Fall 2015) total undergraduates numbers are 8% OOS, 4% International and the rest is in-state.
The acceptance rate has been about the same for in-state and OOS students. We don’t have this years numbers, yet, but I expect them to be about the same again. In other words, it’s not any harder to being accepted as an OOS vs In-state (unlike schools like UNC and Georgia Tech). As UF becomes more popular with OOS students, I expect it’s acceptance rate will start to drop.
I feel like UF wants enough out of state students to say it has students from 50 states (geographical diversity), but beyond that, it wants to serve the citizens o Florida.
I agree with @Gator88NE, acceptance rates are likely the same now because not many OOS are applying. As more apply, the rate will drop.
