I'm coming from a competitive, non-ranking high school in fairfax county virginia...i will probably graduate with a 3.3 GPA and have taken history, english and spanish APS since they were offered to me in junior year. do i have any shot at getting in as an out of state student or will i get shut out due to the top 10% rule? also, will the fact that UT doesnt look at APs hurt me? help please... :)

Is the 3.3 weighted or UW? What are your EC's and SAT/ACT scores? And what do you mean UT doesn't look at APs? They certainly give credit for AP scores (4s and 5s, 3s in some instances), and they do look at course rigor. 32% of last year's freshman class wasn't in the top 10 % BTW, so don't feel bad that you aren't...you still have chance.

By just giving a 3.3 GPA I'd say no.

my SAT -- 500 math, 580 verbal, 720 writing. sorry, forgot to include it in the first one :) and i got 3s on all my AP tests. tHE 3.3 is weighted also.

Sorry, but you really have no chance, and I would look at different schools.
