I will try to make this as short and direct as possible. I am a student studying in a community college in Hawaii and I would like to transfer to a CSU after obtaining enough credits. At this point, I don't know which universities I will be applying to when the time comes. How do I go about picking the right classes that will transfer to those Universities? It seems easy for CCC transfers to pick out transferable classes, but for out-of-state students like me, it's very difficult, especially since I don't have a University that I am 100% sure of applying to. Anyone in here transferring from an out of state school? I would like to transfer to a CSU though, I am not sure which one I will be applying to in the future. How would I satisfy requirements for these universities if each of them has different requirements? Will most transferable credits in one CSU transfer to most other CSUs?

300+ views and no response?

The CA transfer system is complicated for out-of-staters, so that’s probably why your post got a lot of views, but no responses. I wish I could help you, but I don’t want to risk telling you the wrong information!

Go to the UC transfer threads --although you are asking about the Cal State’s, they may have better advice for you:

[UC Transfers - College Confidential](UC Transfers - College Confidential Forums)

Do you already have an intended major? If you don’t get responses, then I would first focus on that by using the CSU Mentor site (<a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU) and start determining which campuses you want to transfer to, then go through each one and determine the Gen Ed requirements and/or major requirements if you are heading in with an Associates degree. Use an excel sheet to keep track. I have a feeling that this may be a lot of homework on your part and probably much of the reason most people can’t give you a definitive response. Also ask in the California Colleges Admission Forum? Think it’s located at top of page in college admissions link.

Also, meet with a transfer counselor at your cc. That’s what they’re there for :). They can give you all kinds of information on articulation agreements, and guaranteed admission agreements. They can help you determine the classes that most schools will want to see at the very least.

Thank you for the response, jkiwmom.
