Continuing the Universitys steady increase in applicants in recent years, Cornell received an all-time high of 34,192 applications for the Class of 2013, according to an e-mail sent to the Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador Network. 1,110 more students applied this admissions year than last year, representing a 3-percent increase over the 33,073 applicants for the Class of 2012.

Also says that the admission rate will likely be below 20% for the first time ever.

Soccer_guy: Princeton went up by 2% and Harvard went up 5%, I think that the schools that already receive 30,000+ applicants (i.e Cornell, Harvard, and Princeton) are reaching a plateau. Does that make sense? I cannot explain Brown, I just don't get it. I visited Brown and have attended many information sessions and I just don't get its lure. Plus, its ranked behind all the other Ivys. Hmmm... its a great university, no doubt, one of the best in the world, but really enough to justify a 21% increase?!

^ duhh it's cause Serena Van Der Woodsen (popular socialite, in case you haven't heard of her) is going to Brown this year, so naturally a lot of teen girls applied.
