Are students from Hongkong over-represented in Stanford, like Chinese and Indian students?
Does it mean it is also a lot harder to be accepted?
Anybody has the pdf of different racial groups percentage in Standford?
THX

Every year a maximum of 3 to 5 students are accepted from Hong Kong. This number includes non asian students from UWC. This number is very small when compared to the acceptance to other IVY leagues and state universities in the US

Thanks,
but what is UWC…?
only 3-5? do they include those hongkong students born in US?

UWC is United World College , in Hong Kong it is called Li Po Chun United World College.
This year Stanford accepted 5 students from HK which included student from UWC , may not necessarily be an Asian.
Princeton it was 9
Upenn it was 25 which includes 6 or 7 from wharton
Berkeley had double figures too
chicago has double figures too

I don’t really get the vibe that any groups are over-represented at Stanford. It seems to be a pretty good mix.

Thanks…

All of the UWC schools have excellent reputations and are highly represented at many elite institutions for that reason
the UWC students count for the country their school is in but they do not apply as international if they are US citizens (Davis scholars)
