<p>This may seem like a dumb question but can you go over the word "limit" on the personal essay? "Please write an essay (250-500 words) on a topic of your choice or on one of the options listed below." </p>
<p>I know I've heard of people writing several pages for essays, are they talking about supplement essays or this one?</p>
<p>You CAN go over the “limit.” It’s actually just a guideline, and I’ve contacted Common App about this. The rep who emailed me back said that they struggled over the wording, but that they certainly don’t have the software to restrict the number of words on thousands of uploaded documents.</p>
