So, I'm 50 words over the word limit for the supplement essays. Is that okay?

i was about 30 words over and i was admitted…just make sure the extra words aren’t fluff/unnecessary

anyone else?

i dont thiink my 50 words are fluff…

I’d recommend you shorten it as much as you can. Wahkimoo’s 30-words-over-the-limit essay got him/her admitted, so I wouldn’t worry about going 10-30 words over 250 words. The commitee doesn’t count your words so as long as your essay isn’t obviously too long, you’ll be fine.

As long as your words are not useless then it is fine. If they explain something that couldn’t be explained in the essay by staying in the world limit, then it should not be a problem.

um. you might want to cut down a little bit. 10-20 words would be safest i think…

well… mine is 400 words long… I should shorten it to at least 300…

After reading the Hopkins forum with a question about word limit, they seemed very stern regarding the word limit. I believe they said even 251 words were too much.

Mine was double the limit and I got in ED
I also asked Dean Latting, he said it doesn’t matter
Soooo i think you can pretty safely say 50 words is fine.

“If it fits, it ships.”

Enough said. :)
