Anybody want to help?

I feel intimidated posting here because while reading the other threads, I've noticed that a lot of people use this forum as a way to post as impressive a resume as any, and want reinforcement when it comes to something they already know: they're damn smart and can get in virtually anywhere, except ivy league where they need alumni status/ something unique to make them stand out. My high school has an assortment of these characters, who complain about the 92 percent they got on their AP Calc tests either to obtain attention and sympathy or intimidate everybody else in the room who did considerably worse.

I don't want reinforcement here.

Briefly:
SAT I: 1390 (verbal 700/ math 690)
SAT II: 640 writing, 660 math 1

GPA: 3.8 weighted, unweighted 3.65
Class rank= top 8%

Member of 7 different clubs, officer of 2 of them.

Taken all honors core since sophomore year except only one math core. Graduating with 6 math and 6 science credits, 5 language credits.

The problem is, I got an F in AP calc. I will submit mid year reports this coming week, since they came out last week. My counselor said that at the bigger schools to which I applied, it won't make a difference because chances are they have already made a decision and don't have time to redo all admissions decisions based on mid-year reports a couple of weeks before acceptance letters are sent out and financial aid packages are being calculated. College websites are full of propaganda: (SAT scores don't really matter, essays are as important as GPA and SAT, etc.), so I don't know how accurate they can be. I've heard that senior year grades are like essays: usually factored in when it comes to "on the fence" applicants.

I applied to these colleges regular decision, from whom I havent received a decision yet:

Boston College
Boston University
Carnegie Mellon
George Washington University
Lehigh University
New York University

Naturally, I applied to safety schools and have been accepted, but these are the schools I hoped to attend.

Opinions please?
