Overall, is WashU competitive or collaborative?

Considering how prestigious WashU is, are the students more competitive or collaborative? I read a similar post about Pre-Med, but what about for other majors? When I toured the school my guide told me she doesn't even know her friends' grades, but could someone who attends WashU tell me a little bit more/their personal experiences?

Collaborative, definitely. I would say pre-med is the most cutthroat of the classes here, and they’re still pretty collaborative. Business classes have mandatory group homeworks/quizzes, and the humanities aren’t cutthroat at all (speaking as someone who’s taken anthro, psych, drama, theatre studies, chemistry, law, and business classes).

And engineering is very collaborative too because working together reduces the amount of suffering for all of us.
