As someone else mentioned, some Girl Scout councils do weekends of glamping as a fundraiser.

Then, once you’re hooked on Girl Scout camp, you can volunteer at your local day camp! 
I see the appeal of this idea. A few times I’ve gone to weekend church events up in the moutains (women’s retreat; completion event after year of bible study together - 4 ladies and bunk beds), and it was great.
This location was especially fun since my kids had enjoyed week long summer camps there. Perhaps next summer I should check out the adult opportunities.
I’m back at this thread re-reading and see one of the Ohio women “camps” has info up - I’m going to try and investigate a bit more!
I totally would do that! Wish we had something like that close to me.
This is a LOT of fun; similar programs exist around the country in New York, Texas and several other places
