Overnight @ Orientation

What exactly do we have to bring when we spend the night at orientation? Like a change of clothes and stuff? Also, if we do bring stuff, do we have to carry it with us for the whole time during orienation? Is it best to pack light?

it says that you should bring what you would bring if you were going out for a day, so i guess you should bring clothes and thats it since they are providing sheets and a pillow

You won't have to carry what you bring to orientation...they give you the keys to your dorm room as soon as you get there so you're able to drop off your stuff at your room before orientation even starts. But you really don't need much more than maybe a change of clothes and a toothbrush.

You should bring a change of clothes because you'll be walking A LOT in the sun, which leads to sweat and dirty hygienes. You DON"T have to bring toiletries or bed stuff cause those will be provided (towels are provided too).

So they give all incoming freshman a dorm room for a day for orientation (all colleges)? lol

duh...if you're staying overnight.

I'm confused- isn't the orientation day the same day that students move in?

It varies for each college. For example, Warren is having one orientation day for ALL incoming Warren students. I think it falls on the day of or before welcome week, I forget. ERC, on the other hand is having theirs over the summer (sometime in June) and it's two days. So for some colleges it's one day, others, it's two days.

Hm..I'm coming in from out of state, so I'm hoping that I can just bring everything on the first day.

Warren's orientation is on Sept 20-21, which is after move-in day and before welcome week...(sweet!)
