Well, the good news is that you have a year to get ready! When I stumbled in the MT world I was amazed by the complexity of the process college audition process.

Here are a couple threads for those starting out:

I always recommend that people just staring the process ready Mary Anna Dennard’s book, “I Got In.” Its a good overall summary of the process. This is the first thing that I read, and it really helped me. Not all of the book really “sank in,” however, until I started reading CC threads.

There are many more great threads. A good place to start is by clicking on “Featured Discussions” at the top of the page (click on the black header line), which takes you to a list of many of the most popular discussions over the past few years. You can also go there by clicking the link below:

It is sobering, but worth it to read the Rejections threads as well. Here is one of them:

I went to the store and bought a package of brown paper lunch bags. I keep one with me at all times. Breathe in . . . breath out . . . breathe in . . .

The best news is that you found this forum. I seriously don’t know how I would have kept my sanity without it and I don’t know how people who never find this forum, manage. They do, apparently, but I don’t know how.

I remember feeling like you did! It does all start to make some sense after a while…

agree that this forum is v helpful. also look at new audition planner available via the online prep from Mary Anna Dennard, the coach who wrote “I got in”. you can also find a video tour about the audition tracker and organizing tools on youtube by searching for college audition coach online prep. I think this audition planner is a great idea that is a long time coming.

*links aren’t allowed here, so i’ve omitted the correct format

Agreed Bendigo - we used Mary Anna for in-person coaching but she hadn’t launched the online stuff yet. WISH we’d had those online tools for organizing.
