Did any one hear about this program? I am looking for a summer program in the UK in early August, so the dates are convenient, but cannot find find much info about it.

Summer camp for people who want to see what it is like to live at Oxford for a week or two. What kind of program are you looking for?

(…and are you imagining that it will help you get into a selective US college? b/c, it won’t. They can be great fun, but it is not going to help you anymore than going to Camp Happy Days).

Thanks, looking for something fun and academically challenging. Do not expect it to help in getting in any colleges (I know it won’t), but don’t mind trying to try a “college life” for a few weeks.

It is hard to see how they would be especially challenging given that they have no admissions requirements beyond your willingness to pay. That doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be fun of course! I think it is late to be getting into any of the genuinely challenging courses for this summer- the admissions season is well past.

Also, you might be mixing up the dates- the program is 4 weeks in July, with an add-on in France in August ($7500 for the course + another $1700 for the optional week in France).

Fwiw, the course will have no relationship to what it is like to go to Oxford (including in how the courses work)- the people who run it essentially rent space in CC & Pembroke to host their program (which is how the majority of summer programs for HS students work, both in the US & the UK)). But- you do get to eat your meals in Christ Church’s fabulous hall!

Maybe… I found a large number of similar programs, with variety of dates. Considering just taking a 2 week program (cheaper), will be in the UK anyway and if my parents are willing to pay, sounds like a good experience. You are right about academics, probably not that interesting unfortunately.

could be fun and interesting, just that you had specified challenging as well :)
