Oxy vs. Scripps vs. UCSB vs. Mills vs. Lewis and Clark?

I'm trying to decide between these five schools. I'm currently undecided but leaning in the direction of the Humanities (I see some form of writing or journalism in my future). I really want an academically challenging school near some sort of city. Mills and Scripps have been the most generous with money, Lewis and Clark moderate, and Occidental was a little skimpy with financial aid. UCSB is affordable, since it's a state school (I live in California).

Which one of these do you think works best for me? I have been accepted to all. Alternatively, what school do you think is the best? in general?

Scripps and Oxy are about the same academically. Mills and Lewis and Clark about the same. UCSB is a decent UC and it is a beautiful school. Let Mills, Lewis and Clark and Oxy go. Decide between UCSB and Scripps - the University of California or a Claremont college - a very nice choice. Big vs. small. You’ll write more extensively at Scripps with stronger academic review. UCSB will be hit and miss re writing and you’ll likely have to take an extra quarter to two to finish vs. four and out at Scripps.
Good luck.
