Has anyone else applied for the ozanam scholars program and when do we find out if we get invited for an interview or not? Thanks!
I applied as well, but I am not sure when we hear back.
I did it might come when your financial aid package comes
I spoke to St. John’s yesterday in regards to admissions for my daughter and I inquired if she would be invited to interview when would the letters be sent. They informed me they would be sent the week of February 20th but you can also skype if you are unable to attend the interview.
@momcollege2017 thank you so much for checking! I’ve been obsessively checking my email everyday and now I don’t have to lol. And good to know I can skype since I’m out of state. Good luck to your daughter!
You are welcome. My daughter is in the same situation since we live in New Orleans. She is going to do the over night Shadow in March. Have ya’ll shadowed?
Haven’t shadowed yet. I plan to go to accepted student’s day and possibly shadow the day before.
Just got an email! I’m selected to interview (phone interview)!
FYI The email says: Congratulations on being selected to interview with the Ozanam Scholars program at St. John’s University! This year, we received close to 500 applications for 25 program spots.
That’s a lot of applicants so I’m worried about the competition but grateful that I’m getting an interview.
My daughter got the email as well. I know it seems it is very competitive. Good Luck!
Thank you, good luck to your daughter too! I’m excited.
Just had my interview. It was hard, I don’t think I did too well. How did everyone else’s go? They mentioned that 170 get interviewed for 25 spots :o really slim chances
what kind of questions did they ask you??? This is so late lol but mine is tomorrow and I’m so nervous
SO sorry, just saw this. How did your interview go? hopefully it went well!
Anyone heard back yet? I’m so nervous, the odds are so slim but I’d really love to be a part of this program. How did the interview go, for anyone who’s had it?
Can I ask what your volunteer efforts were? My interview was very tough too.
@Lalo I don’t recall answering a question about volunteering, but for me, I volunteer at my teacher’s abacus school, am the president of a youth leadership council for a nonprofit, CSF teacher’s assistant for Chinese, volunteer for NHS at my school. I feel like it’s not a lot in comparison to others… How about you?
Thanks for asking. My volunteer experience has been in South America - building homes for the natives and working with orphans. I also volunteer with my church human trafficking ministry locally. I think we’ll hear back by the end of this month.
@Lalo wow that sounds really cool! Yes they said mid-late march.
I attended an admitted student’s reception tonight for St. John’s. The person said ozanam scholarship info will come out this week, most likely in three days (meaning this fri!) :o
I was waitlisted for the scholarship.
