I know these options are common plan Bs for people applying to med school. Which one in your opinion is the best ? How do you apply to them ? Is there a test like the MCAT for P.A and nursing school ? I know there are a lot of undergrad programs for nursing and P.A, like I know nursing is a major in most colleges. But how would a student completing undergrad with a bio degree get into a P.A or nursing school ?

Most PA programs are 2 year graduate programs. (There are some direct admit 5 year programs and one unique program at Red Rocks CC outside Denver is for people currently working in other healthcare professions–i.e. paramedics and nurses-- which does not require a BA/BS first.) But most PA programs do require a BA/BS degree for admission. You will apply just like you do to med school or grad school. GPA, sGPA, LORs and hours of medical experience will be important factors in your admission. Some programs require a GRE or MCAT score.

There are special transitional BS/BA Bio → MSN programs for people who want to go into nursing after college. These are 3 year graduate programs. (1 year of classroom work plus 2 years of clinical training. Any nursing program from RN upwards requires 2 years of clinical training.) Some require a GRE.

You could also attend a CC to earn a LPN or RN degree. However, increasingly nursing is requiring a minimum of a BSN degree for hiring and promotion.

Nursing and doctoring are totally different professions. They are not interchangeable. Go into nursing because you want to BE a nurse, not because you can’t get into med school.

And, IMO, PA >>>>>foreign medical school.

Actually I just checked–every grad-entry PA program requires a GRE. (Some will accept a MCAT instead.)
