Pre-med, Pre-PA, Pre-Nurse

How different are these three programs? I'm currently a freshman biology major on the pre-med path and I will most likely stick to pre-med until I graduate. If I do not get into med school, will I still be able to try to become a Physicians Assistant or even a nurse?

Most grad entry PA programs will expect significantly more hands-on experience than do med school admissions. You’ll also need a GRE score instead of MCAT. But pretty much the required classes are the same.

I’d also suggest NOT spplying to PA and MD programs simultaneously. (PA programs are housed within the medical school at many colleges.)

Nursing is a whole different track than pre-med and pre-PA. Different coursework since the final 2 years of a BSN degree are all clinical training. There are accelerated BSN programs for BA/BS in biology.
