Pace

Not true. I know a boy who got no phone interview or informal call and he got a letter lst week to BFA Acting.

Well, the official date for final acceptance is this coming Monday, April 1, so if you haven’t heard anything by then something is amiss.

just to let you all know…even though my D got her BA acceptance weeks ago…the official letter came today. We are declining, due to the money issue…even though the financial package was great, we have two sons in college too. sending my 25k to TNMAMA.
honestly, they need to straighten out the BA ensemble major from the new film /Tv major quickly.

Business sized envelope just arrived - D is at school but I don’t want to open it before she gets home. I suspect small envelope means it’s a NO. BUT, she got the BIG envelope when she was accepted to academically to Pace University. Does anyone know if the performing arts dept at Pace is sending out LARGE envelopes for acceptances?

same situation TM13, I’m going to wait to let her open it
Best of luck to your D and to mine.
I believe she is going to Pace no matter what it says but we’ll see what she says after opening ;)

Good luck M2gals! I can see through it (yes I’m anxious) that there is a YES or NO check off - but that could be for wait list. One more hour until she’s home.

fingers crossed for both of your daughters!!!

TM13, I think you hit the jackpot. We didn’t. That would be a No here.
So thanks y’all but thats all for now folk.
Wish your D’s and S’s much success.

Strange thing. My mom received a call from PACE yesterday. They wanted to talk to me, so she gave them my number. I have not received a call. This is the third time they’ve tried to call me through my mom apparently. However, I got a business letter with a rejection inside. I already knew I wasn’t going to PACE, but I can’t help but be curious as to why they called me yesterday if I was rejected?

crystaljan, Pace has some strange practices that is for sure. Nothing super consistent about what they are doing. When you read through some of the threads you will see they are kind of all over the map. They are growing and becoming popular pretty fast so I am sure they have to manage things as they come. Makes it a little unnerving for those that apply and audition and wait, but I am sure there is a method to their madness?

well what did they say on the calls? Was it from admissions or from the Performing Arts department because your academic admissions still stands even if you don’t get into a program.

finally circling back - the letter was waitlisting her for the BFA-FCTV – she’s not interested in that major - she would have taken BA Acting, BFA Acting or BFA Musical Theatre. REALLY disappointed but she isn’t - she’s happy that she was accepted to the BFA Acting at Emerson - now for the bad news from a parent’s perspective. Pace University (she was accepted academically) was giving her $19k/year!!! Emerson - ZERO. Hofstra also offered her $18.5/year - but she doesn’t really want to go there. We have decided on Emerson but I’m planning on making an appt with the financal aid office and bringing the offers from Pace and Hofstra with me. Fingers crossed. Good luck all.

Same here, TheatreMom13. $21K from Pace. Emerson and USC - ZERO.

Pace and Hofstra are in a different academic category than Emerson & USC. My D also received a 21K scholarship to Pace when she was academically accepted there, before she ever got around to any auditions, etc. Unfortunately for our pocketbooks, her first choice was a school with strong academics along with the acting BFA so no academic scholarship there!

Just received my letter from Pace, I am the first alternate for the new BFA Acting for Film program funny how that came around.I had emailed Wayne that at my audition no one had mentioned this new program and he said he would pass my file to the head of the department and have him review my accepted prescreen and if they were interested in me they would call. So no call I figured no interest so this letter was a big surprise but, then again at the bottom of the letter it said I was also wait listed for BFA Commercial Dance too and I don’t even dance, OH PACE ;)

wow Londream. Waitlisted for Commercial Dance and you don’t dance? Pace is sure confusing this year! :)

I guess I have to take their offer with a grain of salt  I am pretty much committed to another program but I can wait this one out too, it does look to be a interesting program at least from the flyer they enclosed!

These guys have their heads up their asses this year.

Our D got waitlisted for TV F VO and at the bottom of the waitlist acceptance it has a box marked for BFA MT.

This place is nuts.
