Hey guys! I know there's still almost a month before classes start, but I wanted to start this thread for students who will be starting in the fall (I myself am not going to Georgetown this fall).

Anyways, if you guys have any ideas of things to pack for school (either in general, or specifically for Georgetown), please post here! It would be great!

Here's my list so far:

Several nice dresses (girl)
2 Sports coats (guy)
Dress pants (girls/guys)
Polo shirts
T-shirts
Denim/Khaki shorts
Dressy shirts (girls)
Flip flops
Several pairs of high heels/ dressier shoes (girls)
Dress shoes (guys)
Boots (like Uggs, for the snow)

Okay, keep the ideas coming! It doesn't have to be clothes by the way :)!

the snow here is very infrequent and light. I think it actually stuck to the ground 2 or 3 times this past winter. That said, do bring an umbrella (and other rain protection gear if you think you’ll want it). It’s not that the rain is any more frequent here than wherever you’re from, so much as it is you’ll likely be outside and walking to destinations a lot more.

ok, DO NOT bring high heels! Why would you, Georgetown is on a hill, you know how much thats going to hurt walking up and down! Believe me I was there all July. Do briing an umbrella, rain is unpredictable in DC and when it rains, it pours! Humidity is unbearable in the summer and maybe throuht the year aswell, so try to bring confortable clothes

As I said, I wanted to start it for the students who will be going there, because I myself am interested in Georgetown and when the time comes, I’m sure they will help me out with any questions I have! It’s also fun to see what other people thought would be good to pack!

lilklumsy15: The reason I said to bring high heels wasn’t to wear them around campus! Hahaha. But, there is a rather lively social scene, and you could wear them to a party, or if you had an internship in an office, the heels might be appropriate. I wasn’t suggesting them to be worn to class and what not.
