Pakistani thread

I'm opting for Middlebury College and Franklin and Marshall College

Goodluck Nabeel, Any early actions/ early decisions?

Ok yeah I am from KGS. As for the unis you guys are asking about, from our school Last year
1 to MIT
3 to Yale
1 to Stanford
1 to Cornell

these are the ones i remember. however more people got in acceptances than those that actually went to the schools
I have got 12 o level A's
3 AS level and an 88 in Physics ---DAMN
Pretty good EC's
Excellent recommendations
I am sure ill write good essays

Here comes the bad part:
2040 SAT1
SAT 2: 770 Physics 800 Maths 2C

I am applying to U penn, MIT , cornell, Washington Uni, villanova, Mcgill and U of Toronto

The good part is i have an offer from WArwick-UK- Accounting and Finance already.

ONE more request: Please dont talk about cricket and all that stuff about Pakistan and India. don't use those stupid abbreviations like "DA" for "the". i mean i am not patronizing you but these things are read by people from all over the world. Please protect the little image we have left
Thankyou

"The little image we have left" hehe! I second that!

Okay, now I'm getting all anxious. Applied early action- decision will be out in less than 15 days. The Quest Bridge kids-that US scholarship program-got their decisions last night. Lucky them- At least they know!!!! Good luck people...

I tried but well! Nightey night pakis!

Another YAISA(Yet Another International Seeking Aid) here. Applying to some tops(big leagues, minimal chance to get in) with a toss up of a few mids(ok, i might make it here) and one safety(take me in, kiddo univ).

I dont get it. Like from my school(KGS), one top guy will be applying to all tops and he, of course, he will be preferred at all. But ultimately he will have to select one place out of the 6 or so he might be offered. So the rest of the places go to waste...when they might be of use to people at a slightly lower level. This is quite not good, and where the Oxbridge one select system will work better.

To the above post^
If you have comparable stats and passion for your major and you make that passion shine through your apps, you'll be seriously consederd. I honestly don't know how true "need blind" policies are of these top 10 schools or so, but I do know one thing, these schools are rich, rich, rich! And if they want you and you you bring something unique to them, HELL! they'll pay for you.

Good luck!

If anyone is interested.
Deferred from Yale!

hope you get in, in March..:)..

Hello,
Im from Lahore and i wanted to know if anyone got into UPENN early coz i sure as havnt come across anyone that got in, all defers and rejections :(

Thanks issac!

Hello i am from lahore as well,,,,could anyone please explain what exactly does a postmark deadline means..is it possible to dhl the transcripts etc on,say,31 december even if it happens to be deadline as well?
i know it is a stupid thing to do but my school has closed already for winter/eid break and I cannot get a recommendation until at least Monday 31st when the school re-opens
thanks and best of luck to all applying abroad

issac, it is cool that you have been shortlisted for yale already.. if you don't mind, could you share your sat score-cause i have no clue what a good sat score from students applying from pakistan is
cheers and best of luck

Dude a postmark deadline means that when u post ur materials, the service you choose (like dhl) receives it by the 31st (if thats ur deadline) and they mark it as being recieved on the 31st, and even if it reaches like a week later, it was marked as being recieved for delivery on the 31st...

i hope u understood something from that blabber :P

Hey Issac you were derred by Yale as well. Then I guess good luck to both of us in the regular round.

This thread has been dormant for quite some time.... Where did you guys apply to, and what are your plans for future?

TO ALL THE PAKISTANIS!!
DO YOU THINK STEVE bUCKNOR'S DECISIONS WERE FAIR??
I THOUGHT THEY WERE.............
WHO ARE WITH ME???
AND WHEN IS THE NEXT PAKISTAN SERIES COMING UP, AND WITH WHOM, REPLIES WOULD BE WELCOMED

hey kushalpurie
i don't think the decision was fair on any basis. it doesnot mean that if it was against india, it is fair. btw pak is having a home series against aussuies after that....and if the same happens with pak team then???
but one thing aussies would have won even if the decisions had not gone their way,,,,,,,they are the world champs.

Okay here we go again!!!! Why are we Pakis so predictable?

Is this thread dead ? :P
