Guys, how many acceptances from Pakistan have been there so far? I know that two guys got into yale from karachi. So if anyone else has applied to Yale, they would have to be extraordinary^2 to get in through the RD round

Ouch, and at the same time, congrats to those two yalies!

I know at least 5 who applied to Yale ED, and got rejected. Same with Stanford.

Yikes, Yale. Wow, congrats to them.

I'm still sitting on my applications and starting to doubt I'll get in anywhere. :/

LOL, didn't even know this thread existed. :)

@MimbleWimble, what unis are you applying to? I thought the deadlines have passed for most schools :)

Hi everyone,

I'm a Pakistani student studying at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. About 3 years ago, when I started looking at colleges in the US, I came across this site and everyone here was very helpful to me. I wanted to give back to the site, and I think sharing my experience about Dickinson is a good way to do that.

Dickinson accepts a lot of international students each year and gives a lot of financial aid as well.

If you have any questions about Dickinson feel free to send me a PM. or to email the international student admissions office directly at (studyUSA@dickinson.edu).

Also, be sure to check out these pages:

Dickinson College - Admissions
Dickinson College Office of International Admissions

Thank you, and good luck to everyone applying!!!

haha another Paki right here :)

@manutdfan2850: Thanks a lot for the info! Good to know dickinson has pakis too. Thinking of applying there now....

@papaki: welcome! :D

Finally starting to see some activity around here. Well, best of luck to all of you.

Hey guys, I am also a pakistani. Well actually I was born in the U.S but I am now currently in St.Patrick's high school, Karachi. Here are my grades:

GPA: 4.0
9As In O Levels
5As In A Levels
SAT I: 2350
SAT II: 2300

I also have some good extracuriculars in debating as well as athletics.

Is there any chance that these universities would accept me: Harvard, Princeton, Yale, UC Berkeley, Stanford, MIT?

These stats sure are cool man, I'd say 75% chance at Cal Berkeley! Harvard Yale and stuff are crapshoots for most people, but you have awesome chances everywhere!

Nice SAT score btw man!

bladeknight if u are asking for aid there is a distinct possibility tht none of those universities will accept u
there are a lot of places however where your stats alone could take you very far.
i suggest u broaden you range.
Yes there is a chance that one of them or a few of them might accpet you. have you by any chance gotta distinction in o or a levels cause that could really help u
and are those a level grades expected ones or already u have obtained them or are they AS

Yeah do have a handful of safeties, you won't want to waste your chances bladeknight. Harvard, Yale, Princeton and MIT are need blind for all, so asking for aid doesn't jeopardize your chances. If you are a US citizen, you certainly have A LOT more chances :D

but UC Berkeley, and Stanford aren't. you would have a much better shot in these two if u aint asking for a lot of aid.

"If you are a US citizen, you certainly have A LOT more chances "
yeah forgot that one.Ha

Hey Guys, Is It Possible For A Person In Pakistan To Get A Scholarship To Come To MIT. If So, What Are The Requirements To Get The Scholarship?
