Paper or Online?

Hello folks, needed some info on the online applications.

I’d love to use the online procedure since it’s much easier to key in and track later, but I have an elementary doubt.

When I enter all my transcript information etc online, what happens to documents such as a teacher’s report or a recommendation? How is this validated?

If I want to attach supporting documents such as certificates and resumes, can I send these in to colleges in paper form?

Given this, is it better to send all my application material inclduing forms, resume, certificates, recommendations in one nice pack and mail it to the university?

You'll fill out only the application itself online.

Your transript will still be sent officially from your school, and you'll still mail in the teacher recs etc.

Thanks for that piece of advice.

Both me and my school, being in India, are new to the entire application process. Could you please fill me in a bit? Do I send the paper material to individual universities, or to CommonApp? Do I send ALL my paper information through the school? Or only the marks transcripts? Do I need to attach a physical copy of the common application itself, with signatures from teachers etc?

So the online application makes a sort of file for you in the college, and they fill the file when all the stuff comes in the mail? If I mail them papers, and other extra stuff, including recs/transcript, it'll all find its way painlessly into my own file?
