Well I still can't choose between Emory and Rice. They both seem great academically. Now I just need to know more about the social life. What are people like at Rice? Is it a fun place to be? Is there school spirit and a sense of community? Are people generally nice?

If you really want to get a sense of the social life at Rice you need to understand the residential college system -- a great way to do that is to search around for links to the O-Week booklets put out by each college for their incoming students for orientation. There's a wealth of information in there you might like to see.

I found one for you -- http://www.brown.rice.edu/o-week/IncognitO-Week%20Book.pdf

The answer to the last three is a great big YES to each of them, and especially to the middle two questions. There was a thread about...a month ago that went into great detail about what a Rice student was like, but I don't feel like finding it now.
