Our daughter wants to be everything her big brothers aren't - attend a small school, get out of the midwest, go public.

She visited QU in the Fall and loved it. Any insight on what QU is like from someone outside of the Northeast?

My daughter was accepted to QU, she decided to attend University of Pittsburgh instead.

Depending on the major I think QU has some very strong programs.
We are for PA and it seemed many of the students were from the New England area and Long Island area. It didn't seem to be very diverse student population.

im not from the northeast and i dont really like it here. a majority of the people are from the tristate area and are from new england. i had a hard time fitting in and i was judged almost immediately upon telling people where i was from (miami). i’m transferring at the end of the year, and i know of a lot of people who are as well. its a very big party school too. i hope this helps a bit.

It is true that QU does not have he most diverse student body. Most students are from NY, NJ, CT, MA …I am from PA my daughter was a freshman and had a great year. As with most places it really will depend on your child and how well they adjust in general. Student population is generally, white, upper middle class, and from the Northeast. I did meet student though from various places.

Aren’t most schools big party schools anyway? The school is very expensive so that is why you will see a lot of upper middle class students. QU has been for the last 4-5 years a popular school for kids in the Northeast to apply to.

" . . . Aren’t most schools big party schools anyway? . . . "

Why do I suddenly feel the future of civilization on this planet just took a downward turn?

“…The school is very expensive so that is why you will see a lot of upper middle class students…”

I think schools like NEU, BU, WPI, Tufts-are a lot more expensive than QU, but those schools don’t have a very very diverse student body. I think QU is just not that successful for reaching out to the students outside of New England area.

^ Those schools are bigger and more established. They give out a lot more financial aid than Quinnipiac does. So in reality a lot of students pay less at those schools.
