I am an international student. My father is the sole breadwinner of the family and does not file tax returns. The schools I'm applying to have said that, in lieu of the tax return form, my dad can have his employer send a Statement of Income for him. What exactly does the employer have to include in this Statement? He has no idea and I have no idea how to help him. I don't want to make a fool of myself by trying to draft a template for him to follow when I have no idea myself what would be an appropriate format. Can someone please help me? Thank you

The best thing to do is to have the financial aid offices of each school send you what their ideal Statement of Income is. That way you can draft a template that can include provisions of all of them, have it signed and notarized and use notarized copies of it to each of your schools. Each school can have its own requirements so asking anyone other than someone at the school with the knowledge is just getting guesses.
