Need help with verification of Income, Taxes and all that

<p>Hi! I am an international and my parents are both self employed, in my country we do not file taxes and all that.</p>

<p>What can I do?</p>

<p>Schools like Cornell are asking me to submit a "verification"of income which is like a statement from my parents'boss, but they dont have a boss!, and or tax filling, they dont either!...</p>

<p>What would be the right thing to do? send a statement or something from my parents saying why cant they send the tax thingy or the statement from their boss?</p>

<p>Where does their income come from? You need to provide documents which show the source and amount of their income.</p>

<p>If the OP is in a country that doesn’t have an income tax, I can’t imagine how he/she could verify self-employment income. It would be the equivalent of doing “under-the-table” business here where payments are not tracked. </p>

<p>OP, call your schools, explain the situation, and ask what you can do.</p>
