could really go either way, but i think you have a shot. I think the quality of your essays will either help or hurt your in your case. Good Luck, hope you get your dream school!!!

will chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1438077-chance-bc-nd-uva-umich-bu-wustl-please.html#post15254960</a></p>

bump…

What do you mean by did not do that great on the AP and SAT Subject Test?

Stanford, Princeton, Columbia and Dartmouth are all reaches. What are your safeties?

I agree with Catria. But having said that all these are reaches, I think you have a chance.
Try considering more target schools. :)

Yeah no i have a good amount of target and safeties that i would want to go to I was just wondering about the ivies.

I think your chances are best at Columbia. You’ll fit in there. What were your SAT II’s?

If you go to a private school, your counselor should have a better idea than anyone here.

Did you apply for financial aid?

Where did you apply early?

Ok so my counselor doesn’t think there’s much hope anywhere. I actually applied early to Duke but was deferred. My SAT IIs are 750 USH and 700 Math II

And no on the financial aid and my cousin who attends dartmouth is writing my peer rec will that do anything?

Well, you never know… not sure why you care very much, since you say your parents made you apply. Just make sure you have targets and safeties that you would like to go to. You might want to list those here (sometimes schools people think of as targets and safeties aren’t really… although I am guessing yours probably are).

Well i put in alot of time and effort into the apps so that why i car. And my other schools im applying to are vandy, wash u, unc, uva, usc and u mich and tcnj

You aren’t anything out of the ordinary, but depending on essays and recommendations, they may see something in you. Don’t worry about SAT II’s that much, the main thing is your academic ability from your transcript in conjunction with your SAT I composite score. I would talk to your private counselor first, he/she has privy to past applicants’ decisions/stats.

I would say you have a decent chance at all these schools, but I don’t think Stanford or Princeton will happen, especially the latter.

Chance me back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1438458-chances-top-ivys-universities-lacs-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

I think your non-Ivy schools are the best bet for you.

Princeton: High reach
Stanford: High reach
Columbia: Reach
Dartmouth: High reach

Vanderbilt: Low reach
wash u: safety
unc: safety
uva: safety
usc: safety
u mich: safety
tcnj: safety

“worked with a clinical pharmacist on a research project at hospital”
“shadowed a surgeon and observed surgeries in the operating room.”

You should be applying to Penn and not Princeton, Dartmouth or Stanford. Penn Hospital is right next to the Quad. There are 12 new tennis courts in Penn Park. The suggestion of your parents was unrealistic and impractical.

You could retake SAT subjects in January. Take both Math Level I and Level II. Since you scored 50 points lower on Level II than Math SAT I, you probably should have taken Level I test. Late register now!!!

“Ok so my counselor doesn’t think there’s much hope anywhere.” So what? He doesn’t even suggest January subject tests. He’s worthless.

I’m curious what makes Columbia only a reach compared to the others… Another poster previously said my chances are best at Columbia… Why is that?

You’re Indian. Columbia has the most diversity of anywhere. Penn’s a good bet too.

yea, they’re pretty high reaches for you, but good luck!

Im indian!?!? When did this happen? Why didnt anyone tell me???

Thanks for the responses
