Congrats to TwinE!!!

S was accepted to (so far) two of his three schools he applied to. Number three was one of those personal advantage offers that he really has no desire to attend any way!
Washington State University #1 choice
University of Idaho (Moscow, ID) #2 choice.
Now we just need to wait and do FAFSA and see what rolls in.

GO, TWIN E! Hooray and congratulations, historymom! :D :D :D

Congratulations on all the other wonderful acceptances, too. Three cheers for all the 09ers!

Thanks all and Harriet is right !

a toast to all who have been and are soon to be accepted...and their lovely parents of course.

They're scholars and athletes their character is fine
They're really great people this class of 09

Too early for the straight stuff but how about some mimosas all around ::clink::

Cheers! Raising my glass!!!

Gosh, I'd love a mimosa. Are you delivering?

AWESOME, history! Congrats to Twin E for Willamette. I hear great things about that school.

Familyoutdoors, good for your son! Congrats to him (and you), too! Anchorage sends lots of kids to both WSU and UofI, and the ones I know are all happy with their choices.

Mimosa?? Count me in!

More congrats!

While I'd enjoy a mimosa, there are too many work hours in front of me yet. I do have a fine bottle of champagne chilled at home to celebrate this evening, however!

missiepie it's coming at you courtesy of cyberspace. Do you prefer orange juice or one of the citrus blends? All freshly squeezed of course.

TOS...I hear wonderful things about those schools with the sense to want to make you S a part of their student body too. Lets hope that third and final app has the desired results!!!

cpeltz, you show remarkably good sense. It wouldn't do to jeopardize your job at this point. ;)

Yay - more acceptances! And best wishes for good financial aid packages!

Congratulations to TwinE and to you historymom!

(Has anyone but me mistakenly thought your Ds' nicknames were "twine" and "twink"? :o)

Congratulations all! D has 4 offers on the table, 1 deferred (her #1 school) and 6 decisions she's still waiting on that she should hear back between now and December 5th.

Last night she said that if she doesn't get into #1 and #2, she will go to a lovely up and coming university in Florida that DID accept her.

Yea! I loved that university, I loved the layout, the amenities, her major, the surrounding area, and the fact that the freshman dorm hall was just built and the class of 08 is the first to occupy it. Some have said it's like a 3 star hotel.

Yea for D! :) Now if she could just bump up her ACT score by 2 composite points, she'll get an OOS tuition waiver! Any suggestions? Sylvan Learning Center? She has taken SAT prep courses and that didn't seem to help.

Just OJ in my mimosa.
Have you ever had cava sangria? That is great also! (Esp. with Spanish olives! Hey, if we're having virutal mimosas, how about a virtual trip to Barcelona?)

Are there any schools that your child has visited and applied to, that aren't sending any mail at all? Son visited one that he's not applying to, and the mail won't stop. Others that he's applied to but that haven't made their decision keep sending mail, also. But there is one - that is a match if not a safety - that has sent one email and that's all. Sort of makes me worry...or maybe they're just being responsible and not wasting paper.

:) probably ^^^ but I started referring that way to them in response to a CC poster who accused me of favoritism for referring to them as twin A and twin B (based on birth order btw). I haven't seen said poster since last spring but the habit has held.

I like the names twine and twink better than twina and twinb :)

The SUNYs my daughter applied to stopped sending truckloads of mail as soon as she applied. I certainly hope they're just saving trees!

Muffy--son applied to SUNY Stony Brook -- but we've hardly received any mail (now worrisome!). I'll ask him to check his 'online status' today!

Congrats on TwinE's acceptance. Do she and TwinK feel competitive about the whole process? That must be kind of interesting. I hope they're happy for each other. It sounds like you're all in this together which is great.

Didn't scroll back far enough to catch it...

Many congrats to TwinE & familyoutdoors' son! Great news.

Ohhh...can I just be a proud parent for a minute?!?!?! My super quiet, shy but very smart (to me at least ;)) D2 was named All-State in her sport of choice!!! I cried as it has been a long hard road for her. She is not a public recognition person because she really doesn't like a lot of personal attention but gosh...I am so happy for her!!!
