Parents of UT student with ADD/ADHD? Need advice on how to navigate system

Hello
S accepted to UT and attending in Fall. In HS he had IEP for ADD (support services resource room and extended time for testing).
Anyone with similar experience? Thoughts? Advice?
thanks

Have you visited the web page for Services for Students with Disabilities? Looks like a helpful/good place to start.

@TexasExMom yes i have, but just wanted a parent’s front line experience. Maybe things to avoid, etc.
I guess I’ll just have to contact them directly and start working with them.

thanks

It’s been a few years, but they were very helpful for my son who was unexpectedly diagnosed with a serious mental illness as a freshman.

Your son just needs to make sure he registers with them at the beginning of each semester - they will probably give him an accommodation letter that HE will need to hand to each professor.

Professors are very used to this - after my son began attending the college up here, more than one prof told me that they have multiple kids every semester who need accommodations.
